Universal Political Conference

The Universal Political Conference (UPC) is a large universal political gathering held every 5-10 years for a whole week, where leaders of different empires and planets come to talk to other leaders about trade and diplomacy and even participate in contests. It is hosted by Universal International. The UPC is held at random expo locations throughout the universe, typically in the largest populated area of galaxies.  

Overview

Held every 10 years (5 for small gatherings), the UPC has been around since the 900s (founded by Goku Jr. (HyperNova54)). Its first gathering was in 940.

Its purpose is to provide an environment where universal leaders can gather together to discuss ideas and talk about trading, alliances, politics, economics, etc. with each other, to help create diversity and inter-dependence, as well as an ally system. There is also a small contest, with a points system, where a country with the most electives (representation points) gets a large sum of money in their respective currency.

Leaders of planets and governments from certain quadrants of certain galaxies sit at a large circular table and represent their government/planet/homeplanet. It is important that they make a good representation (good opening speech is very important), so they can get good electives, and more possible empires wanting to trade goods with them, etc. There is a discussion hall where anyone can meet the leaders and learn more about politics, economics, and logistics. It is a very eccentric and intelligent atmosphere, with many races and diversity.

Kuzon Jr., King of Earth, first attended a UPC in place of King Furry XI in January 1070. He was renowned for his opening speech, which raised his respect a lot, and eventually led to the founding of the Great Empire through his influence. He attended every UPC up to 1140.
